NexComm Systems N550 series N552 11.4 Mbps 2 pair and N554 22.8 Mbps 4 pair units extends the reach of Ethernet services to sites with no access to fiber by using bonded copper pairs. Designed with standard-based EFM technology (2BASE-TL), N550 series cost-effectively allows service providers and enterprises to deliver Ethernet services with symmetrical bandwidth at rates up to 22.8 Mbps. The delivery of Ethernet services with N550 can be made quickly by using existing copper plant.

N550 is interoperable with any standard Fast Ethernet interfaces from switches, routers, and NG-SONET/SDH Equipment. N550's management interfaces include comprehensive command-line interface (CLI), user-friendly GUI-based Web Browser Interface, SNMP and Telnet.

The N550 Series provides future-proof features meeting Ethernet Quality of Service (QoS) and Class of Service (CoS) requirements by utilizing 802.1q VLAN capabilities, stacked VLANs (Q-in-Q), four levels of priorities, traffic flow control and rate control. This traffic management and QoS features enable service providers to offer highly profitable and value-added services to a vast majority of business and institutional sites.
